PILLAR INITIATIVE
AND IMPACT
Interventions under this pillar led to measurable improvements in youth employability,
entrepreneurship and financial independence:
Young people acquired critical economic skills,
183 enabling them to secure employment or start
businesses
Over 20 youth-led businesses were launched or
expanded, including poultry farming, tailoring, and 20
vegetable farming ventures.
4 Youth groups secured start-up grants,
leading to job creation within their communities.
Several youths transitioned from training
into employment opportunities in hospitality,
retail, and skilled trades.
Stronger linkages between youth and
market actors enabled access to youth funds,
business advisory services and mentorship.
Improved financial literacy resulted in
better business planning, record-keeping,
and long-term sustainability.
Reduced vulnerability to economic shocks
and negative coping mechanisms, such as
engagement in crime or extremist groups.
