2    LIVELIHOOD RESILIENCE


       Economic resilience is a critical enabler for sustainable development.
       AYT’s livelihood programs align with SDG 8, promoting decent work and
       economic growth and Aspiration 1 of Agenda 2063, envisioning inclusive
       growth and sustainable development.


       Key interventions implemented through;
       The Shared Futures Project, funded by Kerk in Actie through Cordaid, serves
       as our flagship initiative under the Livelihood Resilience Pillar. It targets vulnerable
       youth in Kwale and Mombasa counties, equipping them with skills, resources,
       and market linkages to achieve self-reliance and contribute to sustainable community
       development.
       This initiative directly supports AYT’s strategic goal of reducing youth vulnerability to
       extremism and violence through economic empowerment.


      KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

                                                                         4         grants of Ksh 50,000 each,enabling
                                                                                   them to launch viable enterprises and
                                                                                   create employment opportunities
                                                                                   within their communities.


                                                                                    Youth connected to County
                                                                                    Government representatives, National

                                                                                    gaining access to market opportunities,
                                                                                    youth funds and business advisory
                                                                                    services.
