4   CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE



       As climate change continues to disrupt lives and livelihoods
       across Africa, we are committed to advancing sustainable
       agricultural  practices  and  environmental  stewardship.


         Guided by SDG 13; Climate Action and Aspiration 1 of Agenda
       2063;  A  Prosperous  Africa  Based  on  Inclusive  Growth  and
       Sustainable Development, we understand there is a need to
       prepare young people to embrace climate-smart agriculture
       (CSA) and green solutions as pathways toward resilience and
       sustainable livelihoods.


          While we did not implement dedicated
          programs or activities under this pillar    This  thematic  area  aligns  with  our  strategic  goal
          in  2024,  the  organization  focused  on   of fostering youth-led development and promoting
          strategic  positioning  and  laying  the    sustainable  practices  that  address  environmental
          groundwork  for  future  interventions.     challenges  while  creating  economic  opportunities

                                                         Strategic Positioning and Advocacy

                                                      In 2024, we took proactive steps to establish ourselves as a
                                                      key player in climate-smart agriculture and environmental
                                                      sustainability;
                                                         Partnership Development: we engaged with agricultural,
                                                         climate action and youth organizations to explore
                                                         opportunities for collaboration on CSA and environmental

                                                         initiatives.
                                                         Advocacy for Youth Inclusion:  we engaged in policy
                                                         dialogues with stakeholders to emphasize the role of
                                                         young people in climate action, advocating for their
                                                         inclusion in national and regional climate policies.

                                                                      Lessons Learned
                                                      Strategic Partnerships are Essential: Building relationships with
                                                      stakeholders  in  agriculture,  climate  action,  and  youth
                                                      development is critical for designing effective CSA interventions.
                                                      YouthLed Solutions Drive Impact: Young people have the potential
                                                      to lead innovative solutions to environmental challenges, but they
                                                      need support and resources to scale their efforts.

                                                      Cross Cutting Approach is Key: Integrating CSA into other thematic
                                                      areas, such as livelihood resilience and gender equality, can amplify
                                                      impact and promote sustainable development.
