EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Winifred Okumu

Winifred is the Executive Director at Africa Youth Trust (AYT), overseeing the organization's operations, finances, and empowering youth and young women to reach their full potential. Starting as an intern, she has grown within AYT, holding positions like project officer and program manager. AYT stands out for Winifred in its work in promoting youth and young women's participation in socio-economic and political development. Winifred's goal is to unify voices, achieve gender equality, and advocate against violence. With a background in Gender and Development Studies, she brings ten years of project management experience and a feminist perspective to her role.

Irma Maringo

Irma, as the overseer of all Programs, brings her passion for policy development and advocacy to the organization, collaborating with young minds to drive positive change. With a degree in Development Studies, she finds fulfillment at AYT, where she can unleash her creativity and make a tangible impact in individuals' and communities' lives, working towards a more inclusive and equitable future.

Gillianne Celestine

Gillianne is a valuable member of the organization, providing support to the Gender and Governance Departments. Gillianne's achievements include published articles, partnerships with civil society organizations, and support for the Access to Justice Project. With a degree in International Relations, she brings expertise in diplomacy and foreign policy.
