EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Winifred Okumu

Winifred is the Executive Director at Africa Youth Trust (AYT), overseeing the organization's operations, finances, and empowering youth and young women to reach their full potential. Starting as an intern, she has grown within AYT, holding positions like project officer and program manager. AYT stands out for Winifred in its work in promoting youth and young women's participation in socio-economic and political development. Winifred's goal is to unify voices, achieve gender equality, and advocate against violence. With a background in Gender and Development Studies, she brings ten years of project management experience and a feminist perspective to her role.

HEAD OF PROGRAMS

Irma Maringo

Irma, as the overseer of all Programs, brings her passion for policy development and advocacy to the organization, collaborating with young minds to drive positive change. With a degree in Development Studies, she finds fulfillment at AYT, where she can unleash her creativity and make a tangible impact in individuals' and communities' lives, working towards a more inclusive and equitable future.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Ruth Muthoni

Ruth, with her degree in economics, plays a vital role in ensuring financial transparency and accountability within the organization. Her expertise in financial management and administration, combined with a focus on empowering young people, contribute to the organization's success and growth.

RESOURCE MOBILIZATION OFFICER

Levi Juma

Levi is an experienced community development practitioner with relevant experience in program design, management, implementation and community engagements at both the local, national and regional level. Extensive and deep understanding and knowledge on global issues on Accountability and good governance, civic engagement, Peace and Stability, Gender and Empowerment.

PROJECT OFFICER OFFICER

Teresah Monchari

Teresah, a passionate project officer at Africa Youth Trust, focuses on access to justice and security projects in Nairobi's informal settlements. With a degree in gender and development studies, she specializes in women and girls' issues, particularly sexual and gender-based violence, advocating for their rights and empowerment.

Noreen Khaleji

MEAL Officer

Noreen is a certified Project Management and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) professional with a diverse background in project and program management, as well as research. With technical expertise in computer-aided tools such as R Studio and Kobo Toolbox, she is passionate about leveraging data to drive meaningful impact and informed decision-making.

Kelvin Njai

Communications Officer

Kelvin Njai serves as the Communications Assistant at Africa Youth Trust, bringing over five years of experience in strategic communication, social media management, media relations and content creation. With a solid academic and professional background in Public Relations and Development Communication, he plays a key role in shaping and safeguarding the organization’s brand identity. His expertise ensures that Africa Youth Trust’s voice remains consistent and impactful across all our social media platforms.

Eunice Kamau

Administrative Assistant Volunteer

Eunice Kamau, an administrative assistant, started as an intern at AYT and in her willingness to broaden her horizons assists operations both in the administrative and finance departments. She enjoys her work at the front desk, using her friendly demeanor and passion to make sure that inter office communication and communication between clients and the AYT staff is smooth and efficient.

Office Assistant

Jackie is a diligent office assistant at Africa Youth Trust (AYT), responsible for various administrative tasks and motivated by the opportunity to learn and improve within a youth-friendly organization.

Nancy Nyaboke

Project Assistant. Mombasa

Nancy Nyaboke, is a Project Assistant at Africa Youth Trust. A passionate Human Rights Defender, she champions women’s rights, good governance, and gender-responsive public services. Nancy is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and empowering women to lead, striving for a world where human rights are universally respected.
