EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Winifred Okumu

Winifred is the Executive Director at Africa Youth Trust (AYT), overseeing the organization's operations, finances, and empowering youth and young women to reach their full potential. Starting as an intern, she has grown within AYT, holding positions like project officer and program manager. AYT stands out for Winifred in its work in promoting youth and young women's participation in socio-economic and political development. Winifred's goal is to unify voices, achieve gender equality, and advocate against violence. With a background in Gender and Development Studies, she brings ten years of project management experience and a feminist perspective to her role.

HEAD OF PROGRAMS

Irma Maringo

Irma, as the overseer of all Programs, brings her passion for policy development and advocacy to the organization, collaborating with young minds to drive positive change. With a degree in Development Studies, she finds fulfillment at AYT, where she can unleash her creativity and make a tangible impact in individuals' and communities' lives, working towards a more inclusive and equitable future.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Ruth Muthoni

Ruth, with her degree in economics, plays a vital role in ensuring financial transparency and accountability within the organization. Her expertise in financial management and administration, combined with a focus on empowering young people, contribute to the organization's success and growth.

PROGRAMS OFFICER

Teresah Monchari

Teresah, a passionate project officer at Africa Youth Trust, focuses on access to justice and security projects in Nairobi's informal settlements. With a degree in gender and development studies, she specializes in women and girls' issues, particularly sexual and gender-based violence, advocating for their rights and empowerment.

PROGRAMS OFFICER

Levi Juma

Levi is an experienced community development practitioner with relevant experience in program design, management, implementation and community engagements at both the local, national and regional level. Extensive and deep understanding and knowledge on global issues on Accountability and good governance, civic engagement, Peace and Stability, Gender and Empowerment.

Rose Wendi

Communications Officer

Rose Wendi, the Communication Officer at Africa Youth Trust, holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication. She supports Project Officers by documenting projects, managing the organization’s online presence, and creating engaging content to inspire individuals to become change agents.

Keith Muhati

Programs Officer

Keith is passionate about youth development and social justice. With a background in economics and sociology, he is well-equipped to drive positive societal change through advocacy. His diverse experience spans monitoring and evaluation, policy advocacy, data management, and project management.

Jackline Achieng'

Administration Assistant

Jackie is a diligent office assistant at Africa Youth Trust (AYT), responsible for various administrative tasks and motivated by the opportunity to learn and improve within a youth-friendly organization.

Nancy Nyaboke

Project Assistant. Mombasa

Nancy Nyaboke, is a Project Assistant at Africa Youth Trust. A passionate Human Rights Defender, she champions women’s rights, good governance, and gender-responsive public services. Nancy is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and empowering women to lead, striving for a world where human rights are universally respected.

Saidi Kingi

Trainer of Trainers Coordinator. Mombasa

Saidi Kingi, Trainer of Trainers (ToT) Coordinator at Africa Youth Trust in Mombasa, leverages his finance passion and extensive experience in accounting, auditing, and budgeting to enhance training programs. His strong grasp of accounting principles and reconciliation practices ensures trainees gain practical skills, while his technical proficiency and interpersonal abilities foster an engaging and collaborative learning environment.
