AGRI-SKILLS

The ICCO Consortium members under the name, Civic Engagement Alliance in Kenya are in a strategic partnership on lobby and advocacy and the main objective of the Program is to ensure that civil society can contribute to decreasing inequality and injustices in the society. Africa Youth Trust (AYT) focuses on pathway 3 of the program that is strengthening the position of small scale farmers to access agri-skills and inclusive market systems through a lobby and advocacy agenda. AYT’s goal is to have informed and knowledgeable small holder farmers for improved livelihoods through sustained lobby and advocacy. The future of agriskills for the next 1.5 years will be characterized by the creation of more and stronger synergies with the rest of the pathway implementers to achieve a greater output. Such will be achieved by being coherent in addressing county and national level policy issues, leveraging between the already established target audiences, and targeting the media as key stakeholders in this cause. AYT through lobby and advocacy, desires to continue making an impact towards having an inclusive policy framework enabling county governments to support smallholder farmers to increase their production tremendously.
